Christmas Morning

Christmas Morning
***
Over the glistening white mountains
The first rays of morning came.
Light danced on etchings of frost
That were flecked on my windowpane
Delicate flakes drifted down
To rest on a world so still
That white December morning
Slept on my windowsill

The earth did sparkle and gleam
A Christmas to remember
The snow had washed it clean
The light had chased the darkness
 Across the snow-covered land
A melody of hope sung strong
The surging notes expand
Across the snow-covered land
